Silvaplana is situated in the middle of the wide Engadine lake plateau, at elevation of 1815 meters and is encircled by outstanding mountain landscape. The location of the resort allows a variety of activities for everyone who came here in the fresh clean air and across this unique mountain scenery.

During the winter one can choose from many different leisure activities - the lake plateau and snow covered Alpine woods are perfect setting for long walks. One hundred and eighty kilometers of well prepared tracks turns Silvaplana into cross-country skiers’ heaven. Kite sailing on the lake, snow-shoe treks, tobogganing and an ice stadium ensure absolute winter fun. A cableway with large cabins takes one from Surlej to great heights just below the Piz Corvatsch (3303 meters altitude) peak. Here one will find a large and varied ski area, featuring a snowboard park linked to the Furtschellas runs and Saint Moritz. The professional avalanche camps turn Corvatsch into especially attractive area for the free riders.

In addition to all above, Silvaplana as a year-round resort, offer many relaxing holiday opportunities in the other seasons as well. The area of the resort is great for windsurfing, mountain biking, kitesailing, hiking, fishing, etc. For those who prefer more peaceful activities there are extensive beautiful flower filled meadows and pine forests, which are a great setting for relaxing while enjoying the views of the snowy mountains. During the summer in Silvaplana are carried out events, such as the Mountain Bike Cup (June), the Silvaplana Women’s Run (July) and the internationally Windsurfing and Kiteboarding Cup (August).
