Sierre tourist information & hotel reservations.
We warmly welcome you to visit Sierre and wish you a wonderful vacation.

Sierre is the capital of the Valais canton and also the capital of the district of Sierre. The town has around 14 500 inhabitants. It is located in the middle of the German and French speaking parts of Valais and that’s why it is one of the 3 towns with two official languages in Switzerland. From Sierre you can go to the many tourist attractions of the Val d'Anniviers including many villages in the area like Vercorin, Chandolin, St-Luc Vissoie, St-Jean Chandolin, Grimentz and more. From the town you can also use a cable car to reach Crans-Montana.

Sierre Tourist Attractions and Activities
Sierre became a very important economic centre in the 20th century as it had an early access to hydroelectricity which was used for melting of aluminum.
In Sierre there is a great wine museum called Musée Valaisan de la Vigne et du Vin and also one in honour of Rainer Maria Rilke who used to live there.
Throughout the summer there are many available activities in the town. You can go hiking, walking or mountain climbing. While taking your walk you can see cows from the Herens Breed, which is very popular. The thrill seekers can climb up on a summit and go paragliding from there. Some of them might eventually fall in the clear waters of the Geronde Lake. There are also many winter sports in the area – from skiing and snowboarding to cross-country skiing. One can also simply walk among the 50 kilometers of marked and well-maintained walking paths and see the vineyards in the area, covered in snow.
