Morgins Switzerland

Situated at 1400 meters above the sea level, the Swiss resort of Morgins has been welcoming its visitors summer and winter for over one hundred years! Morgins is one of the first resorts in Switzerland with deep traditions in tourism. While by day, Morgins is a great sporting destination, after sunset it is a lively village with busy bars, restaurants and nightclubs. During the summer season, the village is a starting point for a extensive network of hiking and walking paths. In addition, the resort provides and with 4 theme trails - planetary trail, forestry trail, bridges trail and bee keeping trail. Morgins is a paradise for sporting enthusiasts, providing with activities such as hiking, mountain biking, horse riding, paragliding, guided walking tours, etc. During the winter, the resort is a heaven for the skiers and snowboarders and is preferred by many families for their ski holidays. Of course there are and other winter activities in Morgins such snowshoeing, tobogganing, horse-drawn sleigh rides, ice skating, etc. There are some six hundred and fifty kilometers of French and Swiss ski tracks on the Portes du Soleil skiing area, hundred of individual ski slopes and lifts, a dozen of snow parks for the snowboarders and free riders - a true winter sports paradise! The resort of Morgins is hosting a number of traditional events and festivals and provides with world class accommodation - starting from luxury hotels and ski chalets to apartment rentals and lodging in cozy mountain huts.

Morgins Skiing Holidays

In addition to the snow sports in resort of Morgins itself, which has one hundred kilometers of skiable terrain, as a part of the Portes du Soleil skiing area, the guests of the town are able to access 650 kilometers of ski runs (430 individual slopes), served by more than two hundred lifts! With a lift pass one is able to enjoy winter sports and in the other Portes du Soleil ski destinations of Champéry, Champoussin, Chatel, La Grande Terche, Montriond, Morzine and many more.Morgins itself has only seven kilometers of skiable terrain, which is served with artificial snow by fifteen snow cannons and 35 lifts, but the entire Portes du Soleil ski area has nearly 700 snow cannons and almost 200 lifts!
Morgins local ski pistes are particularly suitable for intermediate skiers and snowboarders and there is a snow park for the latter. However, the whole Portes du Soleil area boasts ten snow parks.

Morgins Transportation

The regional airport of Sion is only on one hour drive from Morgins, and the international airports of Geneva and Zurich on two hours away.
By train:
From western Switzerland with SBB Lausanne - Aigle with a change to railway AOMC for Troistorrents from where one should continue with a postal bus to Morgins.
From southern Switzerland and Italy with SBB Domodossola - Simplon - Brig – Aigle again with a change to AOMC and by postal car.
From eastern and central Switzerland: Furka-Oberalp railway to the town of Brig, where one changes to Aigle and continue on AOMC for Troistorrents and the postal bus to the resort of Morgins.
By car:
From western Switzerland via highway A9 from Lausanne to Vevey, and from northwestern Switzerland via highway A12 Berne - Vevey, from A9  take the exit to St Triphon - Collombey - Monthey - Troistorrents – Morgins.
From eastern and central Switzerland: Andermatt - Realp - Oberwald - Brig – Sierre, from A9 take the Bex exit and continue through Monthey and Troistorrents to Morgins.
From France and Geneva via Cluses or Thonon - Pas de Morgins – Morgins.
