Crans-Montana tourist information & hotel reservations.
We warmly welcome you to visit Crans-Montana and wish you a wonderful vacation.

Crans and Montana - Vermala, situated at 1494 meters altitude are twin ski-resorts, both modern and fashionable and usually associated with the upscale Italian clientele. Situated on a beautiful plateau they enjoy great snowfall, providing perfect skiing conditions and views as far as the Rhône valley. Crans, whose hotel construction began in 1912, is composed for the most part of colonies of apartments and hotels, many in the half-timbered mountain style. Montana, clustered around the shores of Lac Grenon, is the older section, begun in 1892. Also connected to the twin resorts, at a bit lower altitude, is Aminona, which is still an infant resort but rising and attracting people rapidly.

One should know there are no street names, which might be confusing, but the restaurants and hotels often have directional signs; it seems that the inhabitants want to erase the distinctions between Crans and Montana, as the resort has become virtually one.
Neither Crans, neither Montana limits only to wintertime/winter sports. In the summer Montana focus on spa and general well-being activities and Crans transforms itself into an attractive golf centre. Nearby facilities feature the eighteen-hole Plan-Bramois course, on the western end of the resort, and the nine-hole Jack Nicklaus (also popular as the Xires) course, on the resort’s southern part. Hiking, mountain climbing and tennis are some of the major summer activities at Crans-Montana, but there are also horseback riding and fishing available. Winter sports are present by skating, ski-bobbing, and ice-hockey matches, and of course skiing, which is available during the entire year.
There’s a magnificent ascent to Point Plaine-Morte, at around 3000 meters altitude, but even at such a height, there are some slopes suitable for novice skiers. To get there one should take the gondola from Montana-Barzettes, which stops at Les Violettes first. Once up at the Plaine-Morte, one can enjoy a nice restaurant there.
Cry d'Err, north of the resort, rises to 2264 meters above the sea and offer a very good restaurant and a sunbathing terrace. One can get there by the Grand Signal gondola from Montana or the Crans’ - Cry d'Err gondola from Crans.
Piste Nationale is famous for its steep and narrow slopes, which attract most of the advanced skiers and snowboarders. Mount Tubang, and particularly its La Toula slope is another run only for the advanced skiers.
